Professional statement

For over a decade, Allison has helped folks from many walks of life and in various settings. She balances the art of clinical expertise, creativity, and no-BS authenticity to create a safe space for her clients to not only tell their stories—but rewrite them.

Allison is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Rhode Island who is especially passionate about working with women and Moms across all stages of Momhood as well as creatives and artists of all mediums, and college-age folks. She has a Masters degree and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Rhode Island College, and specialized training in perinatal and postpartum mental health from Seleni Institute and Postpartum Support International. Additionally, she is a PeaceLove certified CREATOR, through which she incorporates expressive arts interventions into her therapeutic work. Allison uses an eclectic approach, from behavioral and skills-based interventions (CBT, DBT) to expressive arts interventions, depending on her clients' needs and preferences.

Outside of her role as a therapist, Allison is a Mom, musician, photographer, dog-worshipper, and beach bum.

Message to clients

Quirky creatives, tired Moms, transitional adults (like college students trying to figure life out or the person contemplating divorce), or some version or combination of these are the folks who tend to be drawn to working with me and with whom I most love meeting.

I often get referrals from my colleagues like, "This person needs someone more down-to-Earth and direct" or "This person's a musician and will probably connect with you!"

Life sometimes throws us curveballs. Maybe you're having a difficult time adjusting to your role as a new Mom--or are in a later stage of Momhood and have lost your sense of self and self-care along the way. Maybe you're contemplating divorce and scared, or are facing some other major life transition. Or maybe you wish you were facing a transition and feel stuck. It's so common to feel alone in your experiences. I know, I've been there.

It is my mission to provide you with a safe space to talk about things that are hard to talk about. I'm here for you, to provide you with a balance of support, practical guidance, and skills to move you forward. My style is authentic, down-to-Earth, and judgment-free, and I'm not afraid of humor, four-letter words, or thinking outside the box.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to me and chat about working together.

I'm looking forward to meeting you!
