Professional statement

Allison Ondocsin is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience providing individual therapy, couples therapy and group therapy in a wide range of settings. She opened her own practice 3 years ago in the Uptown/Turtle Creek area, just outside Downtown Dallas.

Allison has had the privilege of working with people with diverse backgrounds, needs, diagnoses and goals. Over that time she has found particular specialty in collaborating with clients who are not only seeking a safe space for processing and exploration, but also desire feedback and tangible change in their daily lives. With training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology and Shame Resilience work, Allison believes that effective therapy isn't just opening wounds and sitting in pain. Having benefited from therapy personally, she understands it's important to repair, experience relief and make real progress.

Message to clients

Welcome and congratulations on taking this first courageous step. I’m so glad you’re here!

I view therapy as an opportunity to connect with you, and then work together to incorporate practices that will address your unique experience and help you to approach life in a more fulfilling way.

As people, we do our best work and lean in to vulnerability when we feel known and accepted. In addition to listening, I believe relatability, humor and feedback are all valuable in creating that relationship. I have training and experience that guide my work, but you are the expert on you, and first and foremost I believe it's my role to help you build that knowledge in session so you can put it to work outside of session.

Our relationship will be collaborative and active so you feel supported, confident in our approach, and most importantly heard and invested. I am a therapist because I love the work, I believe in the process, and because I’ve gained so much from my own personal therapy.

Talk to you soon,

Allison
