Professional statement

Alyssa is a therapist practicing online in New York. She services individuals who experience anxiety, ADHD, ADD, and OCD. Alyssa is passionate about creating a therapeutic space where you can feel comfortable. Alyssa looks at therapy as a place where you can be your authentic self, a place where you can prioritize your mental health and wellness. She believes that exploration of self with guidance from a therapist can allow for self-love and self-compassion. While allowing her clients to be true to themselves and free from judgment she also challenges them to combat negative thoughts and build on their strengths.

Alyssa works from a Person-centered approach as she believes each person is unique and has their individual needs. She will create a space where therapy is not one size fits all but rather specific to you as you are. Alyssa utilizes techniques that are derived from CBT, Mindfulness, and Psychodynamic modalities.

Alyssa has a diverse background in psychology as she worked in a psychiatric unit at Berkshire Medical Center in 2020. She has worked at a non-profit agency in 2021, aiding in therapy for children who have family members who have been impacted by incarceration. Most recently she has worked at Pratt Institute's disabilities center, working with individuals with disabilities and mental health diagnoses as they navigate the transition to college. Through her experiences, she has found a passion for working with individuals who experience ADHD and anxiety.

Alyssa has obtained her Master’s degree from New York University in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness. She is now accepting clients virtually, on a safe and secure platform.

My goal as your therapist is to give you the support and tools that will smooth the path to the growth you are searching for.

I am passionate about working with individuals who experience ADHD, anxiety, and OCD. While personalizing each session to your individual needs, I use CBT techniques to help you combat intrusive thoughts as well as emotional regulation techniques in managing intense feelings.
