Alyssa Simmonds is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Springfield Township, New Jersey. She specializes in working with anxiety, behavioral challenges, and relationship challenges. Her practice is open to adults in their 20s and 30s, as well as couples, families, and children.
When working with clients who are experiencing anxiety, Alyssa takes a skills-based approach to help them effectively manage negative emotions and thought patterns. She also incorporates interpersonal process with that approach, which means she may model the skills in session or have clients practice, so they can review together.
When working with young adults and children, Alyssa also brings in expressive arts to help clients tap into emotions that may not be available through speech alone. And having received training in yoga and mindfulness for children, she enjoys incorporating that skillset with kids – and oftentimes, adults as well.
Alyssa strongly believes that when a client works towards their mental wellness, they will positively impact their own lives, families, and communities.
