Professional statement

Many adults struggle with unsatisfying lives. Many of us are exhausted, frustrated, anxious, and depressed. These mental health challenges manifest in malcontent jobs, difficulties with intimacy, people pleasing, self doubt, or lack of purpose. Amaia helps individuals, couples, and polycules gain a better understanding of what is causing the pain and the steps required to live a well lived life. Many clients seek a comforting space to work through challenges like work stress, relationship conflicts, or grief after loss.

Amaia supports clients as they work towards their life goals by providing them empathetic insight and perspective. She practices a couples therapy modality called the Gottman Method, which helps couples to deepen their emotional bond with each other and learn research based communication skills. She also works from a transpersonal view point to help clients engage with their spirituality as a way of furthering their meaning and purpose in life.

Amaia Oiz is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who sees all clients through Telehealth in Nevada and Florida. She earned a Master’s degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology at the University of Nevada, and also holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Amaia is a Certified Yoga Teacher with over 20 years of experience guiding others through the science and philosophy of yoga. She has extensive experience guiding people into consciousness and towards a better understanding of the human condition. She takes a holistic approach to healing because she believes we are multi-faceted beings.

In working with Amaia you will improve your self awareness, gain self acceptance and advocacy, and improve the relationship with yourself and others. She can teach you affective communication skills, how to set boundaries, how to choose and navigate healthy relationships, better enjoy sex, and, overall, love life!

Message to clients

It is not uncommon to feel the anxiety and depression that comes with life's struggles. Sometimes we just feel stuck or lost for no apparent reason. I believe that we strive to be our best selves, and know, that with a little work, that a life well lived is achievable.

If you are experiencing negative relationships with other's or yourself, I want you to know that you are enough, lovable, deserve acceptance, and that nothing is innately wrong with you.

Clients share with me, in our work together, that I provide a gentle invitation into themselves. I am highly intuitive in knowing what your needs are, even when you might not. It is my life's work to empower you to wholeness so that you can experience the deep intimacy we all desire.

While I do not work with any insurance companies you may still get reimbursement through your plan.

All sessions are remote. This allows me to service the entire states of NV and FL. It is shown that Telehealth is just as affective as in office treatment. My clients enjoy the convenience and freedom of remote sessions. Couples find it more affective to have sessions in their own home and better able to apply skills learned in sessions.

I honor your courage in making the call! Talk soon!
