Amalea Seelig is a licensed psychologist in FiDi, Manhattan specializing in anxiety, addictive behavior, and depression. She is also Co-Founder and Clinical Services Director of MindFit. MindFit is the first extended therapeutic service of Mindful Urgent Care, NYC’s first same-day service for affordable psychiatric medication management.

Dr. Seelig works with adults of all ages, to untangle their thoughts and behavior and see what was previously impossible. Her patients come with stress about their jobs, relationships, and the world.  Everyone wants to stop thinking too much. In a warm and direct way, Dr. Seelig addresses the everyday challenges of being alive.

In addition to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, she uses a solution-focused approach to find strategies that work quickly; mindfulness to support a growing awareness; and informed by Positive psychology, coaching to guide patients toward their potential.

Dr. Seelig received her Doctor of Psychology from William James College in Boston, MA and completed her internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School.

Message to clients

Therapy can be such an asset. As the stigma of mental health decreases, we understand how common stress is for everyone. With a fresh perspective and some guidance, you can see ways past this. You can rise, enjoy life better, and even thrive. In a conversation with humor and humanity, my patients begin to get there.
