Professional statement

Amari Leaphart is a Marriage and Family therapist located in Frisco, TX. Amari enjoys caring for her clients, many of whom struggle to feel loved and cared for in their daily lives. She works with individuals who suffer from anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, or major life changes, as well as couples and families who experience chronic relationship conflict. Many of Amari’s clients feel like their emotional needs aren’t being met. They feel guilty for wanting more in their lives and have difficulty advocating for themselves. Amari also draws from her own experience as NICU mother to work with other mothers and families who are involved in the NICU or another medical setting.

Therapy with Amari looks differently for each client. Her practice philosophy is that no two clients are alike, therefore therapy needs to be individualized and tailored for the different needs and personalities of each person. Amari specializes in a therapy modality called Emotionally Focused Therapy. She teaches clients how to explore their various emotional states and address the blockages that hold them back from expressing their emotions. Clients also learn multiple cognitive behavioral techniques for decreasing the frequency of negative thought patterns like self-judgment or self-criticism. Amari enjoys bringing a holistic lens to her practice, incorporating elements of healing across the mind, body, and spirit.

Amari earned a Master’s degree from Northcentral University. She welcomes clients to unpack and unwind in therapy sessions, and provides kind, empathetic support. Her goal is to give them a non judgemental space where they can focus on their own needs, hear affirmations, and celebrate their strengths. Clients leave therapy feeling hopeful about their lives and with tangible skills to improve their mental health.

Client testimonials

"My experience with Amari has been more than exceptional. She's extremely honest and intuitive and in a short period was able to hear what I was saying even when I didn't quite know how to put it into words. I look forward to continuing to meet with her going forward."
