Professional statement

Amy is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor practicing individual therapy with adults (18+) experiencing a wide range of stressors that impact their daily lives. Her therapy approach historically centers around psychodynamic therapy with features of cognitive-behavioral interventions. Amy is currently a candidate in the 5-year psychoanalytic program at the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis and received her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Florida.

All of Amy’s diverse professional and lived experiences influence her work with clients. She believes that the commitment to therapy should be a mutually agreed upon journey and participates actively in treatment sessions but will never sit in the driver’s seat. That is where you belong.

Currently Amy is practicing virtually in Florida and New York. She offers in-person availability, with safety precautions, in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn on Wednesdays.

Message to clients

As a clinician I offer warmth, patience, and empathy in my pursuit towards building your trust. I am not interested in learning about your past for the sake of it. My theoretical approach emphasizes the exploration of how your past is impacting the present so we can begin to undo lifelong patterns that may be contributing to states of discomfort or distress--which manifests differently for each of us.

Together we will work towards gaining insight and emotional relief by creating personalized goals that match your comfort level at your pace. Phone consultations are welcome to discuss your specific questions and needs.
