Andrew N Burdette is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate. His practice converted to telehealth based services in 2020, expanding his service area to all of North Carolina. Andrew currently works with individuals 18 and older seeking to feel more present and grounded in their daily living. Many of his clients have recently experienced major changes in their lives (e.g. moving to a new area, new job, changes with relationships) or are looking to undertake major changes with integrity and grace. Often in these times of transition we lose our sense of footing and connection with our inner selves and experience elevated anxiety, panic, unease, and disruption of our relationships with those we hold most dear.
Andrew’s approach is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness. In addition to traditional talk therapy modalities, Andrew is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and how to best provide this via telehealth. In working together, we will explore and seek to identify and address root causes of issues while developing practical skills and strategies for living a more present, engaged, and fulfilled day to day life.
Having worked in a variety of settings with individuals and groups, Andrew is able to integrate experiences with a wide range of individuals into a tailored approach to assist you. Fundamentally, a successful therapeutic relationship rests on the quality of the relationship and the ability to feel safe, seen, and understood. This value is the baseline for Andrew’s approach to helping individuals resolve the past and embody the present moment to its fullest.
