Professional statement

Dr. Close specializes in working with women navigating life’s emotional challenges, including stress, anxiety, emotional reactivity, self-doubt, and the lasting impact of past experiences. She has a deep passion for supporting women through major life transitions, including motherhood and parenting, helping them find greater calm, confidence, and clarity in their daily lives. Whether struggling with overwhelm, perfectionism, relationship stress, or old emotional wounds that continue to surface, she offers a path toward deeper self-understanding and healing.

Rooted in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, Dr. Close helps clients explore the different “parts” of themselves—such as the inner critic, the overachiever, or the overwhelmed caretaker—so they can heal at the source rather than simply manage symptoms. She integrates mindfulness, self-inquiry, and trauma-informed techniques to help women respond to life’s stressors with clarity instead of reacting from stress, fear, or shame. Her approach is deeply compassionate and experiential, creating space for lasting and true transformation.

Dr. Close is known for her warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental style. She provides a supportive environment where women feel truly seen and heard, guiding them to break free from limiting patterns and reconnect with their inner wisdom and strength. She believes that healing comes through curiosity, compassion, and a deeper connection to one’s internal world.

With years of experience in psychotherapy and a specialization in emotional regulation, trauma, and intergenerational healing, Dr. Close brings both expertise and empathy to her work. She offers virtual and in-person therapy for women in Illinois and coaching for clients worldwide, empowering them to cultivate resilience, self-trust, and a more fulfilling life.

Message to clients

What to Expect in Our Work Together

Starting therapy or coaching is a courageous step, and I want you to know that you don’t have to navigate this journey alone. My hope is that our work together provides you with a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and supported—without judgment or pressure to “fix” yourself. You are not broken. The struggles you face, whether in motherhood, relationships, or within yourself, are not signs of failure but invitations to understand yourself more deeply.

In our sessions, we’ll work together to uncover the patterns, beliefs, and emotional burdens that may be keeping you stuck. Using a compassionate, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed approach, I’ll guide you in connecting with the different parts of yourself—especially the ones that feel overwhelmed, critical, or reactive—so that you can respond to life with more clarity, confidence, and calm. Healing isn’t about changing who you are; it’s about coming home to yourself in a way that feels more grounded and whole.

I truly believe that growth happens in the presence of curiosity and self-compassion, and my role is to walk alongside you as you rediscover your inner strength. Whether you're seeking more balance, emotional regulation, or a deeper sense of self-trust, I’m here to support you. My hope is that you leave our sessions feeling more empowered, more at peace, and more connected to the life you truly want to live.
