Ann Shields is a licensed psychologist practiicing in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Rochester and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Brown University. She also has held a faculty appointment in clinical and developmental psychology at the University of Michigan.

Her office is in downtown Ann Arbor, across from the Kerrytown farmer's market, where she is available to meet in person; she also conducts telehealth sessions in the Ann Arbor area, in Michigan, and in any state covered by PsyPact.

She works with adults, young adults, and couples, helping with anxiety that interferes with everyday life and coping; depression that undermines a sense of motivation, purpose and meaning; and grief over losses both recent and past. She also has advanced training in couples therapy and works with individuals and couples around relationship challenges. she enjoys helping people navigate life transitions (early parenthood, separation / divorce, empty nesting, creative retirement).

Dr. Shields also specializes in reproductive health (infertility, pregnancy loss) and she is a consulting psychologist to reproductive practices in the state.
