Message to clients

I'm a Gestalt therapist with a private practice in New York City, and a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher. Living in Manhattan is high stress and demanding. Whatever your responsibilities are, it is easy to become detached from your wants and needs. Integrating the body-mind connection into therapy helps my clients get back in touch with their feelings.

In our work together, we explore what's going on in your body as well as your mind. Physical sensations are often a clue to what’s happening emotionally. This holistic approach to therapy helps you discover new ways to cope with feelings and find relief from old emotional patterns.

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)

Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life

Eating disorders - Reducing unhealthy eating patterns, beliefs, and behaviors, such as restricting, purging, and binging; healing the emotional pain surrounding disordered eating

Relationship issues - Understanding one’s wants and needs in relationships; exploring patterns of interaction, addressing concerns, and strengthening satisfaction in relationships and dating

Mind-body connection - Development of skills for handling negative thoughts about physical appearance; building habits of more positive self-talk and self-perception

Adolescent mental health - Working with adolescents, teenagers, and parents on social, academic, and/or emotional challenges throughout teenage years; addressing anxiety, family conflicts, peer relationships, school stress, transition to college, social media pressures, self-esteem, hopelessness about the future, emotional dysregulation

College and graduate student mental health - Specialized strategies for common issues of young adulthood, including school and career stressors, support around healthy relationships, existential concerns, drug or alcohol issues, eating disorders, and anxiety and/or depression
