Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, AMFTAnnalisa Barrett is a therapist in Los Angeles, Ca. She sees a range of patients who struggle in various areas such as life transitions, anxiety, depression, attachment and relationship issues. Any developmental and situational stage of life brings with it a number of difficulties that cause an individual to realize that their current coping mechanisms are no longer working for them. Annalisa's role as therapist is to hold the mirror up and help each patient realize their maladaptive patterns and discover healthier ways to address life's issues.
Annalisa uses a variety of therapeutic modalities to treat her patients. She has a trained background in yoga and meditation and understands the importance of incorporating mindfulness strategies when addressing difficult emotions. She uses the body as a means to access and process feelings and sensations through somatization. Annalisa also utilizes the concepts of CBT, ACT and narrative therapy to challenge negative thinking and help clients identify their personal value structure. As the process deepens, psychodynamic therapy is helpful to uncover early childhood experiences that contribute to present day struggles.
