Dr. Annie Holleman is a psychologist who sees clients over teletherapy in North Carolina, Texas, and across many states. She works with young, early career, and middle-aged adults. Many of Annie’s clients come in when they are overwhelmed with anxiety, feeling guilty when they know they haven't done anything wrong, or unhappy with their relationships. They are tired of trying to figure it out alone. Annie is particularly passionate about serving high achievers, highly sensitive people, ADHDers, and academics. She also has advanced training in the area of grief and parenting support.
Annie is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), relational, and attachment therapies, tailoring therapy work to each client’s unique needs. In session, Annie focuses on understanding your experience, shifting your perspective, building needed skills, and helping you connect with your needs and feelings. This approach supports clients to live their lives to the fullest, with relationships that feel good and in alignment with their values.
Annie’s style is warm and collaborative, while still being direct and finding space for humor. When a client first comes in, she works with the client to understand their needs, learn about their experience, and determine together what to work towards in therapy.
Annie received her doctorate from The University of Texas at Austin, focusing on treating complex trauma and anxiety in children and teens (and their families) and in adults. She gained experience at her pre- and post-doctoral training sites at Morrison Child and Family Services and Austin Child Guidance Center, which has helped her better care for mental health impacts on development from childhood to adulthood. This enables her to see how past experiences affect what we need now. Outside of private practice, she enjoys pottery, spending time outside, and connecting with friends and family.
