Dr. Harrington is a dedicated psychologist and clinical leader with over 15 years in the behavioral health industry. She currently serves as Vita's Head of Clinical Quality and Excellence. She is licensed to practice in Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island ( PsyPact Pending) and is passionate about ensuring clinical quality; feedback informed, outcome-driven care. Prior to joining Vita, Dr. Harrington served as the Regional Clinical Director for Lifestance Health and effectively established, scaled and led the regional practice expansion- launching several new locations and growing the clinical team throughout the state of Maine.
Speciality areas: Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of child and adolescent trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Dr Harrington is an experienced trainer, supervisor and consultant clinically astute in a vast array of brief, evidence-based treatment approaches (Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child Parent Psychotherapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, Time Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy) to help teens and adults who experience a myriad of social-emotional, interpersonal and behavioral challenges
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Stress management - Strengthening effective ways of coping with the stress of life and change; managing expectations of self and others
Suicidal ideation - Support living with intense pain, distress, and feelings of persistent hopelessness; strengthening meaningful relationships and experiences in one’s life
Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse
Mood disorders - Clinical depression, persistent depression, bipolar disorder, and other mood disorders that cause disturbances in the client's mood, causing mood swings, restless sleep, and/or elevated mood
