April Lau, LMHC is a Cognitive Behavioral therapist. April’s clients come in when they are not feeling like themselves or they are tired of being held back by anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, trauma, and relationship problems. Often, the way they see themselves prevents them from getting what they want in life. She helps clients who have social anxiety or performance anxiety to make and maintain connections with others.
April works with teens and adults of all ages & genders. She especially enjoys working with people who appear successful to others but don't feel great about themselves. She sees middle school, high school and college-aged students, people in all stages of their careers, and clients in retirement.
April is curious about who you are and wants to help you understand yourself better. She is dedicated to combining your expertise on you and her expertise in counseling to help you reach your goals quickly. Clients often tell her they feel hopeful and less anxious after their first discussion with her. As you continue working together, she’ll help you to create a toolbox of strategies you can use to overcome your barriers to living life more fully.
April is active in the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment provider communities regularly advising other therapists and learning from others. Outside of private practice, she loves playing outside, volunteering, meeting new people, and spending time with her husband, family, and friends.
