Ashlee Reilly-Hunt is a Licensed Master Social Worker located in NY. Ashlee enjoys working with individuals who would like to improve their mental health in relation to their mind-body connection. This focus includes clients with chronic illnesses, significant medical events, eating disorders, body image challenges, skin picking, hair pulling, trauma, or gender dysphoria. Many of Ashlee’s clients feel chronic pain, whether it is physical or emotional pain. Ashlee is particularly passionate about working with female-identifying clients in their twenties, thirties, or forties.
To support her clients, Ashlee utilizes a strength-based, person-centered approach. She believes that each individual she works with has unique traits that make them resilient, and this resilience can be harnessed for continual growth. She practices trauma-informed therapy modalities, ensuring that all clients feel safe in session as they talk about difficult topics. She incorporates mindfulness practices into sessions and encourages clients to become aware of their somatic reactions to emotions. Clients learn more about the origins of their emotional distress, explore past memories, and connect those memories with current functioning. Additionally, clients learn skills that they can use to support themselves in the here and now.
Ashlee is an LGBTQIA+ and gender affirming therapist who is body- and fat-positive in her work. She’s sex-positive, culturally conscious, and never shies away from a conversation about social justice and the impact of structural inequalities on her client’s mental health. Her goal is to provide clients with a compassionate space where they can be vulnerable and, in turn, experience personal growth and healing.
Ashlee offers the convenience and flexibility of remote sessions to make it easier to prioritize therapy in a busy world. She is currently welcoming new clients across New York State.
