Ashley Holcomb
She/Her/Hers
Psychologist, PsyDShe/Her/Hers
Psychologist, PsyDAshley Holcomb is a Clinical Psychologist providing virtual therapy in California. Ashley is passionate about empowering women to break free of unhealthy cycles, especially after going through toxic or abusive relationships. She works with individuals and their families as they work towards a healthier lifestyle and experience immense periods of change. Many of her clients have trauma backgrounds and rely on coping behaviors that are no longer helpful for them, which can lead to relationship conflict, difficulty parenting, or low self-worth. Ashley strives to help her clients build healthy relationships, including healthy relationships with themselves.
Ashley provides clients with a safe space to openly talk about what’s going on for them. She builds a strong sense of trust with her clients so they can feel comfortable disclosing their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. She practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), through which clients learn to identify the thought patterns that tend to lead to harmful behaviors or negative self-talk. Clients also benefit from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), speaking about their values and what’s important for them in their lives or in the lives of their children. Ashley recognizes that many parents want to give their children a better childhood than they experienced themselves, so she helps them adjust their lives to incorporate their values. She also uses Gottman Couples Therapy Method to help individuals grow in relational skills, such communication or intimacy issues.
Ashley earned a PsyD from Wheaton College. She has nearly five years of postgraduate experience and has worked with numerous clients to improve their mental health. Her goal is to help clients process through their trauma so they can have healthy relationships, whether that’s their relationship with a partner, their children, or others.
