Ah Hyun “Ashley” Lee is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. Ashley specializes in helping those with trauma backgrounds to overcome the lingering symptoms that hold them back from wellbeing. Many of Ashley’s clients have been in abusive or toxic relationships, including relationships from their childhood with caregivers, which have led to feelings of low self-esteem and self-worth. Others have experienced sexual assault, which results in PTSD. They feel frustrated, confused, and in pain.
Ashley is a relational therapist, which means that she emphasizes the relationship between the therapist and the client as well as uses self and the established relationship based on trust and safety to notice, bring insights, and deepen the reflections. She encourages clients to connect with their feelings in a way that bring self-compassion. She also provides Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, an evidence-based therapy modality that targets trauma symptoms that won’t seem to subside, no matter how much talk therapy someone has done. Ashley provides clients with a space to talk openly and honestly about themselves and their experiences, and receive both empathy and the tools they need to move on from their trauma.
Ashley earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago. She is now certified in EMDR therapy and continuously seeks further skills and training to ensure that she’s growing as a therapist. She hopes to give her clients hope and peace as they work through what’s heavy on their minds.
Ashley offers weekly telehealth appointments for residents across all cities in California.
Ashley works with Haley Kong, ASW who is an EMDR therapist (EMDR trained), Mariana Diaz, AMFT, and Helena Wang, AMFT.
