Counseling Background & Nature of Counseling

Counseling is a partnership between the client and the counselor in which they share a mutual goal: the growth and improvement of the client. Aziza offers a safe place for people to share their struggles, deal with many hard realities of life, and work on building and understanding of how cognitive, behavioral, biological, and social learning factors all contribute to the client’s life. Aziza counsels from Existential, Person-Centered, and Psychodynamic theoretical frameworks. The framework used depends on the client; however, in all cases, therapy involves searching within to discover unresolved inner conflict.

Message to clients

My main focus for my clients is giving them the same to show up to the therapy session and be themselves. No reason to have a mask on, during my sessions you can "be yourself". I will listen to you with no judgement and an unconditional positive regard for you. I do not have all of the answers and while you are on your journey to healing; I let you do all the driving and just act as a guide.

I know some things may be difficult to discuss and building trust can be scary, but I am dedicated to helping individuals who meet with me find understanding and clarity within the process of therapy. Maybe you have tried therapy before or maybe it is your first time, either way, I will meet you where you are at and help you get over those tough challenges in your life.
