Bea von Watzdorf is a psychotherapist working with adults of all ages. She offers in person sessions through her office in Bethlehem, PA, as well as virtual sessions to clients in PA, NJ, DC and VA. Many of Bea’s clients come in to address feeling stressed, stuck, or overwhelmed by life challenges and transitions. Bea is passionate about helping people grow, evolve and find a path forward that allows them to live fully, authentically and meaningfully.
Bea has advanced training helping people deal with life transitions, stress, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. During sessions, she uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), internal family systems (IFS), existential psychology, and mindfulness approaches. Strategies used to help develop self-awareness and self-regulation include mindfulness exercises and meditation, developing healthy boundaries, and finding balance in attachments.
Bea's style is warm, engaging and supportive. From the initial session, she creates an atmosphere of safety, attentiveness and connection that allows clients to feel heard and understood. Clients are taught to identify triggers and observe what they're experiencing without judgement. This allows for deeper exploration of thoughts, feelings and beliefs to identify what's helpful and what isn't. Therapy focuses on strengthening, cultivating and building on what's working... as well as understanding, releasing, and growing from what no longer is serving.
Bea received her MS from Georgia State University. She has worked with traumatized adults and children in various clinical settings, including a VA Medical Center, federal law enforcement center, and children's advocacy center. Outside of private practice, she creates online Christian mindfulness meditations that can be heard on YouTube and the Be Still Biblical Meditations app.
