Becca Leitman is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), with over fifteen years of experience working with adults, children and families, and those formed through adoption and foster care. She offers individualized and family counseling services from a relational psychotherapeutic approach. As an integrated clinician, her treatment approach is deeply rooted in attachment, and she utilizes the creative arts therapies in assisting clients to communicate inner challenges.
Becca holds a Master of Social Work from New York University and a Bachelor of Photojournalism from Boston University. Additionally, she was trained in Art and Dance Therapy at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, and earned a Post Graduate Certificate in Attachment Focused Trauma Therapy.
As an adoptee in a mixed family of both biological and adopted children, working in the adoption field has given Becca the opportunity to share her own adoption story and search for identity. She draws upon personal experience, and understands complex family systems, as well as the grief and loss surrounding adoption, divorce and the death of a family member.
