Professional statement

Becky is a licensed clinical social worker located in the Millcreek area of Salt Lake County. She has several years experience working with those who struggle with the complex issues surrounding faith or religious crisis and transition, mainly but not limited to the LDS church or Mormonism. She also focuses on creating a safe place to work through traumas of all kinds, and working with those who struggle with relationships, codependency, and setting boundaries is also a specialty of hers.

Becky is a graduate of the University of Utah, and has worked for Salt Lake County drug court, as well as in private practice. Her private practice, Through the Woods Counseling, focuses on providing a place of healing and support for those who are struggling with life changes, relationship struggles, and for those who are looking for personal authenticity. She uses a psychoanalytic approach, and incorporates Narrative Therapy and EMDR for trauma work.

Becky currently offers in office in person sessions, with Covid precautions, as well as video sessions for anyone within the state of Utah. Her hours are generally 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Her office is conveniently located near the 4500 South exit of I-215.

Message to clients

I'm good at helping people feel safe, and at helping them learn new ways to manage stress and anxiety. I've seen my clients make changes in their lives for the better by overcoming challenges, setting boundaries and taking the steps they need to take care of themselves. I'm good at helping people heal and find peace. I also offer dreamwork and dream analysis as part of my approach to helping people understand themselves and their patterns. I specialize in helping people with relationship issues, recovering from narcissistic relationships, emotional abuse, and gaslighting. LDS faith and religious crisis/transition, and living a life of authenticity. As well as empowering survivors of relational trauma.

If you are struggling with unlearning negative relationship patterns, codependent behaviors, or have trouble setting boundaries, I'd love to hear from you! Feel free to reach out with any questions you might have. Let's connect through email or a phone call to see if we'll be a good fit!
