Professional statement

Beth Sherman is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and Telehealth Licensed Marriage and Family therapist in Florida. Beth specializes in working with individuals and couples navigating their 20s and 30s where so many of life’s biggest transitions and unknowns, like relationships and career, are still playing out. Many of her clients have found professional success, but struggle to feel connected in their relationships or content with their daily lives. Beth is particularly sensitive to clients facing moments of transition, like a move, career change, or breakup, when life’s foundational forces seem most unstable and feelings of anxiety, depression, and self-doubt emerge.

Beth’s therapeutic approach is primarily client-centered and strength-based. She draws from advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the Gottman Method, and a background in Health Education to support clients in seeing real change.

Beth’s therapeutic style is collaborative, active, and practical. She views therapy as a place for clients to grow into their best selves; her role is to support you in understanding your experiences, setting goals, celebrating the joy in your life, and discovering the potential in your journey.

Beth’s practice is dedicated to offering effective and convenient online therapy, so that COVID-related concerns, travel, and scheduling conflicts do not interfere with client’s ability to prioritize their mental wellbeing.

Message to clients

Throughout my life, I have experienced my own challenges with self-confidence, relationship dynamics, finding meaning in my career, and managing stress. And through it all, I have personally experienced the transformative power of therapy.

Our time together will be collaborative, active, and practical - we will take a look at your experiences and interactions, successes and challenges, to create and iterate on a plan for personal growth. I like to work with people who are eager to make changes in their lives, relationships, or careers.

My experiences, personal and professional, have given me insights that I put to work daily, as needed for each client. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA, a Master of Arts degree in Health Education from Columbia University, and I have had professional experiences in the health and wellness industry, the tech world, and education.
