Bharati is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). She works with teenagers, adult individuals, couples, and families. She is driven to work with people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship distress. Bharati specializes in working with people who have experienced trauma, grief, and loss due to the death of a loved one and various other losses such as immigration, change of life phase, empty nest, loss of relationship with parents and siblings. Being an immigrant herself she understands the struggles, stress, and losses that an immigrant has to deal with in the process of assimilation.
Bharati comes from the perspective that we all strive to grow, feel happy, and get better. She believes, every human being is unique and so their experiences. She does NOT believe in one size fits all hence uses different modalities to cater to her clients’ needs. Bharati practices an attachment-focused and trauma-informed approach with a psychodynamic perspective. She also uses CBT and mindfulness. She is trained in EMDR and uses this tool to work with people who have experienced trauma. She is also trained in and uses Emotionally Focused Therapy called EFT to work with her couples.
Bharati's practice is located in San Diego. She is licensed in California hence provides therapy via telehealth video sessions, to clients from all over California.
