Professional statement

Bob Basque is a psychotherapist in Palm Springs. He specializes in helping people improve their lives. Many of Bob's clients come in to address anxiety, depression, and loneliness. Bob is particularly passionate about serving people 50 and better (but treats many younger folks, too). He also has advanced training in helping people living with long-term HIV/AIDS.

Bob is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and narrative therapy, in which he will look at what is not working in your life, and together you will make some meaningful adjustments. In the session, Bob focuses on sincerely listening to you, and between sessions, Bob will offer "homework," if desired, that supports and accelerates the work in your sessions. This approach helps clients to begin to feel better sooner rather than later.

Bob's style is direct, honest, and kind. When clients first start therapy, you will get to know each other in a safe and judgment-free zone.

Bob received his MSW from Arizona State University. He has worked at the renowned Gender Health Center in Sacramento. Outside of private practice, He enjoys leisurely weekend trips around California with his husband. The office is conveniently located in downtown Palm Springs with easy parking in a mobility-accessible lot.

Message to clients

Hi, I'm Bob Basque

I am a committed, encouraging, sensible therapist who can help you get your life back on track.

I provide care for those experiencing sadness that seems to last forever, emotions that feel out of control, and feeling empty in life.

What makes me different is that I listen carefully and read between the lines, uncovering what might really be going on underneath. Together, we will figure it out.

Being a therapist is an honor. I love guiding people toward figuring stuff out and seeing them finally get their desired life back. The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is providing encouragement during life's challenges.

I am 100% committed to helping you get back to living life! You need to be ready and work hard, but I know with my help, you can get moving again towards a life you love!
