Bonnie Mark is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Rhode Island. She sees clients navigating depression, anxiety, anger, trauma, life transitions, relationships, and creative processes. Bonnie specializes in treating trauma and offers Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) sessions to aid clients in unblocking memories that get stuck in the nervous system, leading to more rapid trauma recovery. The majority of Bonnie’s clients are adults, emerging adults, and couples. In addition to her clinical work, Bonnie is passionate about social justice, including a background providing community mental healthcare to marginalized communities.
As a holistic and integrative practitioner, Bonnie draws from a variety approaches, including narrative therapy, gestalt therapy, imaginal therapy, and mindfulness. She considers her style strengths-based, collaborative, and oriented towards her clients’ hopes for themselves. She creates a warm, curious, and compassionate space for clients to build upon their own neurobiological capacity for resilience and growth
In addition to her work with individuals, Bonnie also works with families and couples. She completed a two-year training in inner-analytic couples and sex therapy and remains passionate about helping partners build intimacy while acknowledging individual differences and attachment styles.
Bonnie completed her Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute. Outside of her private practice, Bonnie has worked as a family and trauma specialist in a treatment center setting. She has also facilitated trauma-informed anger and substance abuse groups with adults and teens, with a focus on challenging systems of oppression, cultivating resilience, and strengthening community.
