She has worked with a wide range of individuals including parents/caregivers, women in the perinatal/postpartum period, students, and first responders. Dr. Mathes Winnicki is a genuine, flexible, and compassionate therapist. Her approach is person-centered, strength-based, and trauma-informed. Dr. Mathes Winnicki has specialized training in anxiety, obsessive compulsive, and trauma-related disorders including through her work at the OCD Institute at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School and the National Center for PTSD at VA Boston. She has also provided advanced clinical supervision to doctoral candidates in their provision of therapy and has published over 40 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts.

Message to clients

As humans we can often feel stuck in our thoughts, feelings, relationships, behaviors, or even life altogether. We may notice ourselves feeling anxious, irritated, or ashamed much of the time, and we can start to disconnect from the things that matter to us most.

I view therapy as a space where we can openly and non-judgmentally explore what's keeping you stuck and make actionable changes so you can connect more with the things that really matter to you. Throughout this process, I am here to create a safe space where you feel supported, validated, and empowered.

It is hard to ask for help, to share your story with someone else, and to make the changes you want to see. I would consider it a privilege to be a part of your journey. If you're interested in working with me, I would love to talk more about how I can help you during a consultation call.
