Dr. Bruce Borkosky is a Licensed Psychologist located in FL. Dr. Borkosky is passionate about making mental health treatment accessible for individuals coming from various life situations. He mainly works with clients who suffer from anxiety, depression, PTSD, and issues of identity. Many of his clients are men who seek to better understand themselves and their behaviors, assumptions, and relationships. His clients want to learn how to better manage their emotions, which often make them feel overwhelmed. Dr. Borkosky helps clients alleviate issues with panic attacks, anger issues, self-harm, and substance abuse.
Dr. Borkosky draws from many therapeutic modalities when working with clients. He teaches clients how to monitor their thought patterns for negative self-talk or judgments, which can often lead to a diminished mood or lower self-esteem. He also helps clients examine their motivations, especially those related to changing behavior. By prompting clients to reflect on their values, their goals, and their relationships, he encourages clients to live more authentically and intentionally. Clients have the opportunity to explore their thoughts and feelings in a safe, non judgmental therapeutic space. Dr. Borkosky also enjoys bringing other mediums of self-expression into therapy sessions like music.
Dr. Borkosky earned his PsyD after a career as a computer programmer. He also practices forensic psychology through his work in the prison system and as an expert witness in court cases. His passion for mental health comes from his own experiences going through a major loss in his life and the support he received from his therapist at the time. He enjoys working with clients to lead more fulfilling, enjoyable lives.
