Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC National Certified Counselor, NCC Master of Counseling, MCAt Novo Counseling and Wellness, Caitlin's approach to therapy is one that is warm, welcoming, and educational. Novo is the Latin word for "renew, refresh, and revive" which has become the moto for Caitlin and her practice. Her job is to teach you to access your internal resources to allow you to heal from your past, effectively navigate the challenges of your present, and face the future with a sense of empowerment, confidence, and purpose. Through years of experience and extensive knowledge of the body and brain, Caitlin can help you find what you will need to improve your mental health at your pace. She tailors her approach to your specific needs, drawing from evidence based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). ART is a method that can help people achieve meaningful healing of their symptoms and the emotional pain you may be carrying. Caitlin in currently receiving training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), the first choice for treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). Caitlin takes an approach to therapy that is holistic and self-empowering, taking into account how your body and mind affect each other. Caitlin will help you learn to utilize your strengths and incorporate practices that will allow you to cope effectively with your daily challenges and ultimately work to heal the root causes of your distress.

Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Self-esteem - Cultivating self-compassion, assertiveness, and confidence; developing ways to reduce suffering, anxiety, social withdrawal, and self-neglect
Loss, grief, and bereavement - Emotionally preparing for the anticipated passing of a loved one; managing feelings and reactions to a death or loss of significance; support during the process of healing and acceptance
