Professional statement

Caitlin Vinter is a therapist specializing in women's mental health and wellness. She primarily sees women for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and also treats anxiety disorders, mild to moderate depression, life transitions, work stress, difficulties with family, peer, or partner relationships, and people struggling with chronic insomnia. Her clientele is women experiencing any of the above struggles.

Caitlin pulls from various therapeutic approaches to help her clients overcome life stressors and achieve their goals. She helps clients recognize and shift automatic negative thoughts and unhelpful core beliefs through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; identify core values through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; develop psychological flexibility through mindfulness and value-based goal setting; as well as negotiate social support, role transitions, and interpersonal disputes as a Level A trained Interpersonal Psychotherapy clinician. As a social worker, Caitlin has been trained to understand the person in their environment, meaning that she consider's not only what the person is struggling with on an individual level, but also the roles that systemic and institutional factors play in the person’s experience.

Caitlin has received specific training as a perinatal mental health clinician (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International, as a Level A for postpartum depression trained Interpersonal Psychotherapy clinician, as well as a 16 week training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Clients experiencing any of the following may be a good fit for therapy with Caitlin:

Message to clients

I am passionate about helping my clients work through their challenges, function more effectively, and gain psychological flexibility alongside self compassion. Being truthful and vulnerable is no easy feat, so I do my best to make my clients feel welcomed, respected, and accepted in our work together.

As a social worker I have been trained to understand the person in their environment, meaning that I consider not only what the person is struggling with on an individual level, but also the roles that systemic and institutional factors play in the person’s experience. I work with women in particular and take the context of being a woman in today’s society, all of the roles we fill, and all of the expectations placed on us into account in our work together. In this way, we can come to understand our patterns, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in both a personal sense as well as in a broader context.

I am particularly passionate about working with women during the perinatal period (technically pregnancy through 1 year postpartum), as this time period is full of transition, role changes, and new relationship dynamics.

Please reach out to learn more about how we might be able to work together on the issues you are struggling with.
