Professional statement

You’ve had a hard life, though most people can’t tell. You keep it together on the outside, but inside, you often feel overwhelmed and anxious. At other times, you might feel totally numb. There are periods when your emotions are all over the place. You might be having trouble in your relationships, either finding or keeping them. You’ve tried to forget your past but it keeps finding you. You feel hopeless and like you’re going crazy at times. You may not know who you really are or what you really want. You’ve tried lots of ways of distracting yourself or making the pain go away, and yet it’s still here. You’re confused about what to try next.

You are not broken. It is still possible to have an exceptional life. A life where you feel less alone and more connected. A life where a thought or a memory doesn’t have to ruin your day.

Therapy isn’t about feeling better, it’s about living better. I use a blend of effective therapies to help you get good at feeling. When you get good at feeling, you can have any emotion, memory, or thought, and still take steps toward the life that matters to you.

Work with me is experiential, meaning we’re not just talking about things, we’re trying new things. For example, rather than pushing away a difficult memory or feeling, we look for better ways of holding it or processing it.

I work with clients both online and in person.

Message to clients

If you have trauma, anxiety, or OCD, know that it is still possible to have an exceptional life. Your trauma history doesn’t have to define you, and your fear doesn’t have to control you. You are more than your pain.

You don’t need to go through this alone. My job is to walk with you at this difficult time, and to help you get where you want to go in life. I bring compassion and care to my work with you.

The best things in life are on the other side of fear.

I offer evidence-based therapy to help you live well, regardless of your history.
