Professional statement

Dr. Candice Presseau is a Counseling Psychologist offering remote therapy sessions to clients in New York. She specializes in trauma, as well as relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and coping skills.

As a trauma-informed therapist, Dr. Presseau’s approach is flexible and contingent upon the client’s comfort levels. Clients may prefer to fully disclose their concerns, or they may prefer to focus on developing coping skills rooted in mindfulness and the mind-body approach. Dr. Presseau takes special care to go at the pace her clients are comfortable with.

Dr. Presseau has extensive experience working with clients who are experiencing symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), including concerns over substance use as a coping mechanism. She often uses Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help clients accept present realities while also working towards making positive changes. Additionally, she incorporates psychoeducation to help clients understand and normalize their symptoms.

Message to clients

It is so important to identify and find the right match in therapy. Someone with whom you feel connected to and able to open up to. In addition, it is helpful to find a therapist who is knowledgeable and can offer insight into the specific difficulties you are experiencing. I am here to offer consultation and counseling services so that you can work toward becoming "unstuck." Through the cultivation of knowledge and awareness of where you are becoming stuck, we can forge a path forward together.
