Professional statement

Cara Morales is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and Parenting Coach. She works with adults, young adults, adolescents, parents, and couples.

Cara is trained in CBT, DBT, Attachment Theory, EMDR, Gottman Couples Therapy, Bereavement Therapy, Mindfulness, Parent Coaching, and the integration of faith and spirituality with psychology. She uses a variety of techniques from these approaches to help clients improve the relationships in their lives, find greater peace and joy in life, feel empowered and confident in parenting, and make decisions more aligned with their values. Cara's style is empathetic, encouraging, and goal-oriented, so that her clients can get the most out of the therapeutic experience.

Cara received an M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. In addition to private practice she has worked for decades in the high school setting with adolescents and parents. Outside of the office, Cara enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids, traveling, and drinking coffee.

Cara offers virtual therapy sessions for clients located in California and Idaho, and parent coaching sessions for parents of adolescents located anywhere in the US.

Message to clients

Life has many seasons. Some are full of joy and excitement, while others are challenging, difficult, and full of storms. I believe having someone to walk alongside us during these times, guiding our steps and encouraging us, is an invaluable gift. Therapy can help us get through the tough times, prepare for big transitions in our lives, and help us live the abundant life we desire.

As a therapist I believe therapy is a collaborative experience: while I bring my expertise to the table, you bring yours as well ... you are the expert in your life. I work with my clients to identify what they want most out of therapy, and help them achieve these goals as quickly as possible.

I know starting the therapeutic process can be scary and overwhelming, and I applaud your courage to wonder what could be different in your life. I would love to walk alongside you as you improve your mental health and relationships, parenting skills, and build a life in alignment with your values that brings you joy.

Please feel free to reach out to me via email, or schedule a free phone consultation to ask any questions you have and plan next steps.
