Carla Lisio is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Dobbs Ferry, New York, who specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships and identity development and growth. She works with individuals, especially those in their twenties and early thirties, as well as couples and adolescents. Carla brings a supportive, compassionate and strengths-based approach to her work. With psychoanalytic training at the Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy, she uses the therapeutic relationship as a primary tool for change.
Carla works with clients who are experiencing elevated levels of anxiety or depression, which may be related to a history of trauma in their lives or a present difficulty with a major life transition. Through a combination of insight-oriented and solutions-focused work, her clients uncover their strengths, build resiliency and disrupt patterns of thinking and behavior that hold them back. In addition, she can help her clients incorporate daily techniques, such as grounding and breathing exercises, to navigate distressing thoughts and situations as they arise.
In addition to traditional psychotherapy, Carla offers leadership coaching for not-for –profit professionals. With training at Columbia University Business School and experience in not for profit leadership, Carla mentors young professionals assuming positions of influence and authority.
Carla’s work is person-centered, as she strongly believes that everyone who visits her has the innate capacity to create positive change in their own lives. She looks forward to meeting you, and working with you on your unique journey.
