Professional statement

Carlene Casciano-McCann is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor located in Greenville, RI who is passionate about helping women facing mental health challenges as evidenced by obtaining a Women's Mental Health Specialist Certificate. Many of her clients face anxiety or depression when they’re trying to balance all aspects of life – relationships, work, family duty, and more. Often, these clients sacrifice their own needs as they constantly strive to meet everyone else’s needs, leaving them feeling exhausted and emotionally spent.

Carlene’s therapeutic style is warm and respectful, and she provides clients with validation that can help them feel less alone in their struggles. By recognizing that the world is complex and there are many pressures placed on women, Carlene helps clients emotionally lift themselves up and focus on meeting their mental health goals such as overcoming painful memories, balancing work and personal lives, or breaking free from toxic relationships. Clients learn how to recognize patterns in their thoughts and emotions, addressing those patterns to avoid additional distress.

Carlene provides clients with an affirming space to talk through what’s on their minds and to find empowerment within themselves. With Carlene’s support, clients work towards healing and improving their lives through their already-existing strengths and resilience.

Message to clients

Recognizing the challenges so many of us face in this complex world, I know the importance of lifting up and supporting individuals through difficult times. If you are experiencing anxiety, mild to moderate depressive symptoms, adjustment, life transition or women-specific issues, I am here to help. Together we will create goals that work for you. These can include, but are not limited to, symptom relief, managing the complexities of personal and/or work relationships or dealing with transitional periods in your life.

I partner with my clients to find the best path forward by recognizing each individual's strengths and needs and providing a safe, affirming and empowering environment for growth and healing. We will examine the beliefs and thoughts that may be negatively affecting you as well as acknowledge and build upon the strengths that have served you well.

I would be honored to help you gain additional insight into your experiences on your life's journey. You can expect warmth, validation, respect and understanding from me so that you can get the most out of your therapeutic experience. I am accepting new clients and invite you to set up a fifteen minute consultation call.
