Carli founded Carli Watson Wellness LLC to help you release stress & heal trauma with proven mind-body skills. She offers online & in-person somatic psychotherapy, coaching, & yoga. She is now located in Grand Rapids, MI after moving from Pittsburgh. Carli’s clients come to release shame, practice self-care, & re-connect with their inner world. Carli is particularly passionate about serving folks with childhood trauma & women who doubt themselves. She has advanced training in trauma & addiction recovery.
Carli practices holistic, integrative, & somatic therapy, which blends cognitive & body-based styles. You'll learn practical mind-body skills to calm & regulate your nervous system first, so you can then balance emotions & reframe thoughts. In session, Carli uses body awareness, breathwork, gestures, & grounding skills in combination with traditional talk therapy. You'll leave equipped with ways to feel more relaxed & present in your daily life.
Carli's style is engaging, empathic, & experiential. During sessions, you'll be guided into an atomsphere of safety & curiosity where all thoughts, feelings, & body sensations are welcomed to be expressed & released without judgement. Imagine finally letting yourself be with, rather than do or perform. You'll find that calming your body first will allow you to more easily calm your raging inner critic with acceptance & self-compassion.
Carli received her MSW from University of Pittsburgh & worked as a therapist in community health centers for five years before starting her own practice in 2021. This work inspired her study of yoga & somatics, as she served adults with severe trauma & substance use seeking healing in both body & mind. For fun, Carli enjoys yoga, beach volleyball, board games, training her new puppy as a therapy dog, & relaxing with family.
