Dr. Caroline Kalai is a licensed psychologist. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, such as panic disorder, phobias, social anxiety, OCD, illness anxiety, separation anxiety, and GAD. Dr. Kalai also specializes in treating sexual trauma and has been certified as a crisis counselor through UCLA's Rape Treatment center where she worked as an on-call psychologist. Her primary treatment approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with an emphasis in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for anxiety and OCD, Prolonged Exposure (PE) for trauma, Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy for couples, as well as parent training/support for child and adolescent patients' families.
Dr. Kalai earned a Doctorate of Psychology degree (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology and a Master of Art degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology, an APA-accredited institution. She also successfully completed an APA-accredited internship at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital-Adult Outpatient Center, and served as chief intern to her clinical training cohort. Prior to her graduate work, she obtained a Bachelor of Art degree in Psychology from UCLA where she served on the board of the Psychology Society.
Dr. Kalai is currently accepting new patients in her private practice on the Westside of Los Angeles and Santa Monica.
