Carrie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Minnesota and Texas. She currently resides in Texas and sees individuals residing in both states through virtual therapy appointments. She was formally trained with her Masters in Social Work in 2008 and graduated the Institute for Integrative Nutrition's Health Coaching program in 2014. In recent years, she has focused her continuing education on providing appropriate services to individuals with ADHD whom the mental health system has often misdiagnosed or missed altogether.
Carrie provides individual therapy to adults, specializing with AFAB (assigned female at birth) people and women who identify as neurodivergent or are curious about having undiagnosed ADHD or Autism. She pays particular attention to hormone cycles and how these impact mental health symptoms. Carrie has over 15 years of experience working with individuals struggling to cope with anxiety, depression and the compounding impacts of interpersonal and sociocultural trauma.
Carrie takes an eclectic approach, utilizing a number of mind-body, client centered therapeutic modalities. She identifies as a relational therapist with an attachment based framework. She uses Internal Family systems and Systemic therapies to depathologize "problems" and support individuals in resourcing their most authentic self. Sessions are experiential and attentive to somatic processing in the moment, supported by mindfulness and self compassion practices. Carrie works to attend to the power differential that occurs within the "helping relationship" in her role as a therapist. She identifies as anti-racist and anti- oppression and sees therapy as a powerful opportunity to challenge dominant narratives that perpetuate experiences of suffering.
Remote sessions are conducted through HIPAA compliant Electronic Health Record. In-person sessions will be available starting February 2025 in Cypress, Texas
