Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHCChantel Thurman is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with nearly 30 years of experience. She maintains a hybrid therapeutic practice including both teletherapy as well as in person sessions at her Seattle office. She works with adults across the lifespan, and specializes in treating complex trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, relationship issues, loss and grief. While individuals come to see her for a wide range of issues, a history of trauma is a common theme. She also works with couples.
Chantel has advanced skills and training in EMDR therapy and utilizes it frequently in sessions, particularly for those individuals with a history of trauma. She works collaboratively with clients to develop treatment goals and to determine the best approach to meets client needs. She helps individuals develop healthier coping strategies and to supplement therapy work with additional support and resources as needed. In addition to EMDR, Chantel utilizes elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Jungian Therapy (including dreamwork) when appropriate and helpful. In her couples work, she blends Gottman method with Emotionally Focused Therapy and developmental models of relationship.

EMDR Intensives are billed at my hourly rate and pro-rated. They generally run 2 hours per session = $280
Couples sessions are either hourly at $180 or extended to 90-minutes for $240 depending on the needs of the work
