Message to clients

Thank you so much for exploring my Zencare page to see if I may be the right fit to support you along your journey toward improving relationships, expanding your toolbox of healthy coping skills, making meaning of these challenging times in our world (e.g., COVID, racism, social injustice), and feeling better in your daily life!

I'm actively licensed as a psychologist to support clients living in Rhode Island, so I am unable to serve those living in Connecticut/Massachusetts/other states and I can support those who are residing in Rhode Island currently. As I am not a Trauma Specialist, I encourage individuals seeking trauma-focused support to reach out to an EMDR certified Zencare Trauma Specialist. As I typically meet with clients once every three to six weeks, for long-term developmental support, the treatment of Substance Dependence, Severe Depression/Bipolar Conditions, and Anorexia/Bulimia typically fall beyond my scope of care. My focus is often on working with staff, faculty, graduate students (including art, medical and law students), and recent university/college alumni. I also occasionally work with junior and senior undergraduate students, who believe that we would be a good fit!

Potential future clients often reach out when they tried therapy before, yet found the match was not the right fit (e.g., being charged when you need to cancel for something important in your life, hearing "uh-huh" without gaining insight/coping skills). I believe flexibility, cultural awareness/competency, and connection are essential for healing and value creating a welcoming space! - Dr. Nate
