Psychologist, PhDDr. Chinwe Idigo is a Psychologist located in Teaneck, NJ. Dr. Idigo works with teenagers, young adults, and adults who would like to focus on improving their mental health. Many of Dr. Idigo’s clients find themselves in conflict with others because of challenges in regulating their emotions. They have angry outbursts or feel overwhelmed by their depression or anxiety. They seek healthy conflict resolution skills to help them at home, at work, and with friends. Dr. Idigo also works with couples and families to help them grow their relationships.
Dr. Idigo takes a social justice perspective when working with clients. She may incorporate conversations about race, culture, and oppression into her sessions, encouraging her clients to explore how their identities impact their relationships and their mental health. She also incorporates psychodynamic therapy, teaching clients how to draw meaning out of their inner thoughts and desires. Clients reflect on their upbringing and derive insight out of their current patterns. She also teaches clients skills from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) so that they can avoid harmful cognitive distortions like self-criticism.
Dr. Idigo earned a PhD in Psychology from the University of Louisville. She strives to collaborate with her clients, allowing them control over their mental health journey as she provides expert guidance. She is a compassionate, empathetic therapist who helps clients build strong relationships with others and with themselves.

Cultural adjustment - Acclimating to a new environment; managing stress and coping with feelings of loss and separation from familiar people and places

Personality disorders - Support reducing emotional suffering and addressing relationship challenges
Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse
Psychological evaluations & testing - A broad range of tests and assessments that may be used to identify present strengths, provide diagnosis clarity, and inform treatment goals
