Professional statement

Mrs. Stewart's practice, located in Columbia, SC, is focused on the following areas: working with clients with depression, anxiety, grief, stress, issues related to sexual orientation, spiritual issues as well as end of life. Her approach is to work with clients to mutually develop creative and effective strategies for dealing with the inevitable stress that occurs in their lives and to enhance their ability to experience more joy in life. Her goal is to help people live a joyful life, not just a life free from uncomfortable states of mind.

Her work is mostly solution-focused, though she has training in family therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She is Jungian oriented.

Her great love is helping people make "increasingly more skillful and life-enhancing choices and seeing people thrive not just survive." With training in counseling and massage therapy, Ms. Stewart brings a unique and holistic approach to clients. The bringing together of Western and Eastern teachings is an important focus of Ms. Stewart's work.

Clients can be seen at her office in Elmwood or sessions can be held remotely.

Message to clients

Therapy is "in my blood," as I grew up the child of two therapists. I so believe in the value and benefit of having someone to speak with who is objective. Who has no motive but to be of service and to help you find your way in life. I see myself as someone who walks along side you on your path for awhile and helps you navigate some of the harder parts. I have seen such beautiful changes in people who do the (sometimes) hard work of becoming better and better versions of themselves. It is truly an honor to help people grow and change in directions that are more life-affirming.

I am an POC and LGBTQ ally and it is of upmost importance to me that anyone who walks through my door knows they are valued and respected.
