Dr. Chrissy values humor, so be prepared to laugh, cry, and curse when in her office. Her relational style is warm, empathic, and approachable. Above all else, she strives to create an inviting atmosphere to make clients comfortable discussing even the most difficult topics. Her specialty is attachment, trauma, and dissociation. Because of the depth of this type of therapy, she prefers to work in an intensive model, either meeting multiple times per week or engaging in longer sessions, often called "intensives." These half-day or full-day therapeutic experiences allow for more relief and healing to occur over a brief period of time. She is trained in several trauma-specific modalities and uses EMDR as her primary framework. Each client's needs are different, so the degree to which different therapeutic modalities are used varies significantly from client-to-client.
As an ADHDer diagnosed in adulthood, Dr. Chrissy is very familiar with the complexities and nuance of assessing and diagnosing neurodiverse conditions, particularly in AFAB folx. As a clinical psychologist, she provides thorough psychological testing and reports for these conditions.
Dr. Chrissy's office is located in Rochester, NY, though many of her clients come from the NYC or Chicago metro areas, where she previously provided in-person therapy. Telehealth is available and does not hinder the use of therapeutic models such as EMDR. Most psychological evaluations can also occur via telehealth.
