Professional statement

Christina works with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma. One of her specialties is working with LGBTQ+ populations. As a transgender woman, Christina understands and empathizes with her clients’ lived experiences. Some common things she works on with clients include gender and identity, dating challenges, kink, polyamory, social justice issues, and self acceptance.

During therapy with Christina, clients explore and get curious about how past events relate to their present day thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Christina then uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to reframe their thoughts and behaviors as well as EMDR to help process trauma when needed.

Christina’s vision is to create a world where mental health challenges are no longer taboo, but rather symbolic of strength and self care. By empowering individuals and supporting them on their journey toward wellness, Christina is working to make that vision a reality.

Message to clients

Are you afraid or anxious to start therapy? Surprisingly, that’s good! Growth comes from discomfort and there are no opportunities for growth inside our comfort zones. I’m here not only to empathize, but also to challenge self-limiting beliefs that are holding you back from the life you envision.

Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, LGBTQPIA+ related issues or more, my holistic approach to therapy will address the many facets of your challenges. Let’s collaborate to assess your thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviors so you can live life on your own terms and prioritize your personal growth.

Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)

Gender identity & transgender health - Exploring gender identity, including trans, non-binary, and gender variant identities; support throughout the process of transition

LGBTQIA, gender, and sexuality topics - Exploring topics of sexuality, gender, and identity; coping with discrimination and oppression; navigating relationship, family, and cultural challenges

Body image - Development of skills for handling negative thoughts about physical appearance; building habits of more positive self-talk and self-perception.

Self-esteem - Cultivating self-compassion, assertiveness, and confidence; developing ways to reduce suffering, anxiety, social withdrawal, and self-neglect
