Dr. Christine Cantner is a clinical psychologist who welcomes a wide range of adults and adolescents to her practice in Morristown, NJ. A seasoned clinician, Dr. Cantner is equipped to support clients who are grappling with difficult thoughts and emotions, including anxiety and depression, eating disorders, and self-injurious behaviors.

Many of Dr. Cantner’s clients are high-achieving individuals who privately struggle with intense self-criticism, leading to feelings of shame, panic, and low self-esteem. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness-based practices, Dr. Cantner gently guides clients to examine the thought patterns that are not serving them, build new coping skills, and foster a more nurturing relationship with their inner voice.

Dr. Cantner also has a special interest in supporting clients around times of transition, such as the transition to new parenthood or the exploration of one's gender identity. Dr. Cantner supports each individual within a system to find balance in a new routine, promote open communication, and increase feelings of love and connection.

I appreciate your courage in reaching out for therapy. It takes strength and a leap of faith to make that first call. I believe we repeat what we don't repair. It is my privilege to work collaboratively with patients to gain empathy and insight into their suffering and to both support and challenge them to make the changes necessary for their growth.

Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life

Adolescent mental health - Working with adolescents, teenagers, and parents on social, academic, and/or emotional challenges throughout teenage years; addressing anxiety, family conflicts, peer relationships, school stress, transition to college, social media pressures, self-esteem, hopelessness about the future, emotional disregulation
