Professional statement

As a therapist, yoga/meditation teacher, and hospice volunteer based in Manhattan, Christine has worked with people across the spectrum of age, race, gender, and sexual orientation, dealing with a wide range of issues. She's particularly interested in working with young adults who are struggling with identity, relationship, and body image issues; undergoing life transitions, grief/loss, or chronic/terminal illness; or exploring their spirituality or experiencing existential crises. Her approach to therapy is psychodynamic, emotion-focused, body-centered, and strongly influenced by Jungian analysis. She is also trained in DBT and mindfulness-based interventions. She is adept at weaving together this variety of modalities to meet the unique needs of each client with whom she works.

Through decades of study and personal experience of depth psychology, yoga, meditation, and dance, Christine has come to understand that our bodies provide a doorway into the unconscious. You can learn to access this doorway by using your sessions with her as an opportunity to slow down and develop a deeper awareness of your body and mind, and how both are impacted by your experiences, memories, thoughts, and feelings. This awareness enables you to tap into a well of inner wisdom, which can lead to transformative insight and meaningful, lasting change.

Christine has an MSEd in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College, as well as a BA from New York University. She completed post-baccalaureate studies at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as more than 1,000 hours of training and 13 years of professional experience as a certified yoga and meditation teacher.

Christine provides sessions online or in-person at Union Square Psychotherapy. For those who would like to get a sense of what it’s like to work with her, she offers a free 15-minute initial phone consultation.

Message to clients

Do you feel lost, overwhelmed, confused, isolated? Maybe it feels like your life is spinning out of control, but you can barely find time to catch your breath. Your sessions with me will be an opportunity to slow down…breathe…and develop a deeper awareness of your inner world. This process is incredibly rewarding. It’s also challenging, which is why I’m here to be your guide as we collaborate to create your unique path to self-knowledge, self-acceptance, and transformation. I work holistically, so all of you - mind, body, heart, and soul - will be tended to in our work together.

I'm committed to providing a space that is safe, open, and judgment-free, within which you'll learn to trust your own instinctive knowledge.

I'm glad you're here and have already taken the first step towards finding a therapist. We can take the next step together by scheduling a free 15-minute phone conversation, which will give you a sense of what it would be like to work with me. From there, we’ll just take it one step at a time, together. I’ll be here to address any anxieties or fears that come up for you along the way.

Feel free to call, text, or email me to set up a time to speak. I look forward to connecting with you!
