Professional statement

Christine Weinberg is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, based in East Hampton, NY, who works with from 14 to 75+. Many of her clients have found great success in their careers or academically, but struggle to feel connected in their relationships or at peace in their daily lives. As a former marketing/communications professional, she understands the unique struggles that people face while balancing family and marital roles. Christine is particularly sensitive to clients facing moments of transition, like a move, job loss, or breakup, when the delicate balance can seem to tremble, and symptoms of anxiety, depression, and self-doubt can emerge.

Christine's approach is rooted in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, an evidence-based approach that focuses on helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, so that they can begin to make targeted change. She works to help clients understand their physical response to external stressors, and begin to problem-solve ways to introduce moments of calm, to choose to respond rather than react in the face of change.

Christine is focused on ensuring that her clients see real progress: her style is interactive, non-judgmental, and positions clients as the experts on where they are now, and where they want to go. A trauma-informed therapist, Christine is sensitive to the influence of past experiences on present challenges, and works closely with clients to reframe the narrative of their life in a way that increases self-confidence and compassion.

Christine'ss first priority in starting with a new client is ensuring that they feel safe, heard, and like an equal partner in the therapeutic process. As a seasoned telehealth provider, she offers the convenience of remote sessions to help make therapy a core component of your self-care calendar.

Message to clients

We all experience bumps in the road during life, such as traumas, divorce, family issues, or loss of loved ones. Receiving support and understanding from an outside perspective can give you clarity of how these events shape us and our relationships. I firmly believe that having a collaborative partnership with an empathetic counselor is crucial in this process - one who truly sees and values you. Together, we can map out a better picture of how your life events affected paths made along the way and use these insights to improve your relationships and develop your goals into realities.

I offer a unique perspective as a therapist: as a former marketing/communications professional, I understand the unique struggles that people face while balancing family and marital roles. There's no such thing as "doing it all! I've also trained in various modalities for healing trauma, whether it stems from grief, abuse, or relationship issues.

I believe in a direct, collaborative approach in an uplifting and positive way. You will not lie on the couch and talk while I stay silent. Rather, our sessions are an active partnership in a safe and supportive environment. I use humor, warmth and real-life practicality to help my clients achieve peace, resilience, and strength in their lives.
