Professional statement

Dr. Colette "Lettie" Brooks is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Coach located in Stafford, VA. Dr. Lettie specializes in providing motivated adult clients with trauma histories the support, comfort, and security they need to heal. Many of Dr. Lettie's clients feel stuck in their lives, whether that’s because of panic attacks, depressive episodes, relationship conflicts, or emotional fatigue. Dr. Lettie helps clients reconnect with their authentic selves and move past the painful feelings that hold them back.

Dr. Lettie is trauma informed and certified in offering Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. In EMDR therapy, clients tap into their brain’s memory processes to reconsolidate traumatic memories. It allows the brain to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories and resume the natural healing process. Dr. Lettie facilitates this treatment with a trauma-informed approach and pays particular attention to making sure that all clients are comfortable in session. Dr. Lettie also helps clients identify negative patterns in their lives and replace those habits with healthier alternatives.

Dr. Lettie holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision as well as two Master’s degree, one from The George Washington University in Education and Human Developent and the second from the University of the Cumberlands in Clinical Mental Health Counseling . Dr. Lettie is passionate about helping clients take control over their life’s narrative and making intentional choices for a healthier, happier life.
