Rooted in Psychodynamic therapy, she believe’s in the healing power of feeling and working through historical emotions within the safety of the therapeutic relationship. Courtney recognizes the influence identity has on how people perceive themselves and the world; factors such as race, sexuality, gender, religion, and class all impact the challenges one encounters. Courtney’s commitment is to explore how these factors shape your life, guiding you towards insight and healing.
Courtney is dedicated to ongoing learning, as she believe’s it is essential to evolve alongside her patients. She desires to help individuals and couples navigate adolescence, grief, identity, quarter life crisis, transitions, relationships, perfectionism, codependency, anxiety and depression. Courtney is also passionate about working with adult children of alcoholics and those impacted by loved one’s addiction.
Courtney’s passion for therapy began in her teens after experiencing the healing of psychotherapy firsthand. After completing her undergraduate degree in Psychology, she worked with homeless youth in London. This experience illuminated systemic discrimination and reinforced her belief in approaching all patients without judgment. Following this she worked in the tech industry, where she observed the toll that demanding workloads took on people. She felt more drawn to discussing her clients' well-being than the work itself. Inspired by this realization, she returned to school to pursue psychotherapy at Columbia University. Having lived in 4 different countries, Courtney understands the complexities of starting over in New York City.
Courtney practices in-person and also online. Individual sessions are 45-minutes and Couple sessions are 1-hour. Courtney offers free 15-minute consultations.
